This is a promotional facility for local products from Higashiyoshino Village, Nara Prefecture, which is a friendship city of Sakai. It is a pure wooden building made of cedar and Japanese cypress from the Village, and is located on the south side of "Dora Pond" in Daisen Park.
The name “Sampusha” expresses the nature of the Village, the greenery of the mountains, freshness, the interaction between Sakai and Higashiyoshino, and also its simple lifestyle and landscape.
In addition to selling numerous specialty products such as mugwort rice cake and crackers, yuzu citrus, and miso (fermented soybean paste), Sampusha also displays polished cedar and Japanese cypress logs and photographs of Higashiyoshino Village's seasonal scenery etc.
